I am, however, a step-mum to an awesome 5 year old girl and a devoted auntie to a young nephew (4) and niece (1), collectively and affectionately known as "the monkeys".
Most of my friends and family have young children and we hope to be equally blessed.
I am starting this blog because I've become conscious not only of the baffling array of choices around modern pregnancy and motherhood, but also of the judgmental, unsupportive and unsisterly undercurrent on many of the sources of information out there.
I want to provide an antidote and the kind of blog I would want to read as an expectant or new mum (or dad). A blog I could come to for good advice and information, knowing I won't be attacked or belittled for the choices I make.
And what would I want to know about? Pregnancy, maternity wear, the law and our rights, product information and reviews, nursery decor, trends in pregnancy and motherhood, parentcraft classes and lessons, birth plans, stories from real mums and dads, latest research findings, costs of all things baby-related...
